What can one say? 2007 has been a year of many great designs and new faces in the arena. Many new designers have arisen and taken their piece of the cake, just as oldies return releasing their projects and foreigners get much attention to their work through translation. The overall number of designs submitted is lower than previous years, but the quality has risen a lot. A much higher percent of the designs are above average and high class designs, and that is reflected in the results below.

There has been quite a number of ties in the markings, not only for the first place but for all places. Anyhow, I wont make you read much further to soo the results. here they come, the winners of the Game of the Year Awards!

Well, WTWB won every category it was voted in. That's a real suprise, indeed...

Well done to the winners, and everyone who was mentioned.

If you do this next year I suggest you nominate things yourself and let people vote from those. Even in the lists you've posted up there are some that don't fit the categories (Lord Fadawah is not a newcomer).

Hmm..

The 'game of the year' doesn't really make much sense, because not every game can fit into every category, thus some have more points than others eg. cutscenes. ( although one could as well say that they don't figure in playability balancing things out.. )

And of course WTWB. No surprises there.. And I'm happy to be joint most improved designer

Congrats to Ingo, although I didn't think WTWB was that much better than the next three. Sometimes I think people see Ingo's name and go a bit starry-eyed. Actually the overall scoring is a bit dubious.

Anyway, current AoKHers need to start using all their amazing knowledge and knuckle down to making some high quality, meaty designs. There's not enough of you there. Are you going to stand for being relegated to the sidelines by some old-timers?

Although the rule that says people can vote for more than one nominee in a category is rather questionable, this awards had been fun and interesting enough to made me wonder who's gonna earn the top. Congratulations to the winners!
Are you going to stand for being relegated to the sidelines by some old-timers?
Hmm. Nice words.
So true. We need to stop embracing the past too much and start making a revolution. 2008, a new era. Or something like that.

Correct it!

BTW, Thanks for holding this election.

Nope, I removed it since An Eskimo Tale isn't a minigame.

I thought he only had released the three campaigns of this year. Urgh. *fixes*

Indeed, there are some mistakes such as Matty being on The Best Newcomer, knowing the fact that his first campaign was submitted in 2006.

But we have to cut Basse some slack. I mean, counting all of them isn't that easy, it takes time and focus. Minor flaws are unavoidable. Good thing not so many people voted though.

Also looks fine on my 20". In fact I have another window open so firefox is only about 1000 pixels wide my screen.

Scud, this is totally off-topic but I thought I'd ask- I got my parents an LCD monitor a while ago, and it also uses 1440x900. Apparently my father could not find a graphics card ANYWHERE that supported that resolution, and they're stuck with a really warped view, every time I go over to show them my latest photos, I cringe at how stretched they are. They must be using some 4:3 ratio instead of 8:5... Any hints? Or is your PC stock?

Thanks,
