We all love AoC. Why else would we be here? Why else would you be reading this thread?
With the seemingly less projects dominating the 1st page of SD&M, whether it be your work is not far along enough to post in the "Current Projects" thread, or even to have a thread of its' own. Why not give us a snippet of what you're working on?! Campaigns, Scenarios, Mods, anything!

It could be your big project, a side project, if you're just kicking back playing an RM or MP game or your favourite Campaign.
Even just messing around in the editor or Poser? I would love to see your raw works, or what you're up to in the world of AoC. Think of it as an "Instagram" for Age of Empires.

Take a screenshot of whatever you're working on (or playing with) in the editor or modding program, and share it with the community. No editing required to get rid of the editor's menu or your cursor, no theme, no voting. Just the sharing of...
Your works of art.

Nice screenshots. You've used the new AoF/AoAK objects in a rather creative manner
Does anybody know of any good examples on how to make jungles look good?
They're probably my least favorite setting to design...you're pretty much limited to one tree terrain, rocks, and small injections of the dirts and grasses. Bamboo can also work if placed sparingly around watery areas as if to represent reeds.

I'd have a look at Mark Stoker's Nyctophobia campaign, the Dos Pilas scenario in The Forgotten, or Al_Kharn the Great's Children Of A Dying Sun campaign. Lord Basse also creates some excellent jungle settings in his The Relics of Athalen campaign.

i'm glad you liked it. Still a work in progress, but for now is the best i've got. The plant/wood using of Knaber is wonderfull ! Very accurate and realistic.

Knaber:

Are you designing with African Kingdoms or the Conquerors? The new expansion introduces alot of new trees and bushes made by Jorgito Aqua which can liven up jungles and reduce the monotony.

I appreciate the recommendation of Children of a Dying Sun from HockeySam but I created that campaign after 10 years out of the community and my map design was simplistic. There's alot of things I would do differently now.

I recommend being diverse with your trees. A believable jungle should have other trees besides the game's jungle trees; incorporate alot of oak, bamboo, and palm. Even pine can mesh well in some cases. Experiment with the gaia objects as well like plants, cactus, rocks, sea rocks, both kinds of flowers, and mountains. The beauty of jungle is that it is diverse and jumbled by its nature so you can mix things around a bit more and still make a credible forest.

Also, don't forget that you can mix different terrains. It's easy to forget your brown and tan terrains can provide compelling contrast to the monochromatic jungle trees.

Lord Basse's Jaguar Gold also does jungle well.

Will be sure to check out all the scenarios when i get home again.

Btw, Im designing in the original game, the gritty terrain in "HD" drives me nuts...

Thank you for the good comments about the screenshots.
Dark_Reign, this Mp scenario is a war game (like cba). You start with 99999 resources of any type in your city and you have a lot of buildings. There is a spwan every tot. time of special hero units differents for every player (this spawn of units is bonded to special buildings and if this buildings is destroyed the spawns ends). There are 2 teams and 6 players. I hosted sometimes this Mp scenario in Age2HD and i played it with other guys that liked it and i'm still improving it every time in relation to feedbacks.
gag2000, i'm sorry but i forget to credits your work! xD
I think building shadow fix is great!

Very nice indeed. I particularly enjoy little touches such as the units placed on the buildings with free-placement, as is the case with the monastery and the trade workshop in the first screenshot.

The East Asian building set is a joy to design with - all of the buildings fit together so well

Yes, the East Asian set is pretty consistent. It looks like ES recycled a lot of the same objects... the archery range/dock/siege workshop have the same roofs; the monastery and blacksmith have the same roofs; and the blacksmith and archery range have the same roofs for the annex structures... but it helps everything look more consistent and allows free placed Asian structures to 'snap' together better.

I don't know if this is what you intended but the usually ugly fence wall ends actually look like small garden plots in your screenshot.

I recommend changing one of the Tree F (the brown dead tree). I tend to not put the same trees so close to each other unless they're well-tended 'garden' or 'boulevard' trees. I would use another tree there.

That's a nice screenshot, though the patches of road look slightly out of place to me due to the way they're scattered about and the contrast with the surrounding grassy hills. I'd suggest to either replace them with something else or reorganize them in such a way that a recognizable, realistic path is created.

One really underrated part of the screenshot is the apt usage of elevation, which really contributes to the overall quality in a good way

I do love me a wintry landscape.

It's certainly easier to design for than say for Spring or Summer. The effect autumnal trees have with a dirt/snow under palette puts my eyes in a trance.
