People can only be supportive if you ask for help. Modders very often share assets here and are more than happy to help people that are polite enough to ask for it, indeed, none of the big mods here are solo projects. But if you just take the contributions of others without even asking, you shouldn't be surprised that people take a dim view of your activity.

It could have been a great mod. It shouldn't have been deleted. This was what a large number of Age of Empires 2 fans been searching for ages. Diversity is what age of empires 2 lacks. (+_+) He had finally made it a reality! (*_*) Can the Modders not be kind enough to give permission to the mod now. After all he never claimed them as his own. He even credited everyone.....

Let me know who thought like that, you people have spread so much hate against me, I don't think anyone will think anything like that.
Why don't you take this as an idea? Create a similar mod creating all graphics by yourself, I would love to see how it goes.

It's a bit rich of you to attack other people for not making mods when you've taken all your work from other people without bothering to ask.
People would be more positively inclined toward you if you'd apologised sincerely after your original infraction, but you mostly seem to be playing the victim. It's not a good look.

I am not publishing it anywhere, how can you call this stealing? I am just creating the mod for me and my friends. I will continue to create it! Not for releasing and gaining praise, as you all probably think while modding. I don't want to gain something from modding, it just feels good to create and share stuff with friends.
If you want I will stop coming to this forum, maybe you don't like my presence.

Okay, I'm going to distract everyone from Omkar by asking a question (since he's been dominating this thread for a while now),
If a mod author hasn't been online for a while and they haven't explicitly stated that they don't want anyone to upload their mod, is it ethical to re-upload it? Since you can't really contact someone like that it'd be hard to ask for permission. I always thought mods in situations like this would be in the same boat as "abandonware" games, though I could be wrong.
Credit should obviously be given either way.

Hello, I hope you are well, well first I introduce myself, I'm Matias and I'm the one who uploaded the Different Units mod to the Steam Workshop, I want to make a warning and see that I have no intention of removing their models, I What I wanted to do is to further enhance this mod that was left behind by the new updates of AOE II HD, and make this mod known, I do not have bad intentions of leaving all the credit to me, if I do not value the mod of this community, I hope that has not affected any of you and I ask you a question and a proposal, there are two options that you can do as the creator of the mod (Mahazona).
1.- I am forbidden to upload more and update the mod, if that is the case, I do not have problems to delete it in the Workshop.
2.- Ask for authorization to continue with the mod and give it to you so that your Mahazona upload it to this page (or as you want it).
Also, if I finish uploading the final version I will leave a Word or document of each model created with its creator, as well as adding it in the description of the Steam platform. I never pretend to have problems with any, it is more I respect them for the love and the will to create content to a game that came out in 1999 and is still playing HD as the original and take your time to do something that is free.
I hope to have an answer and sorry for the inconvenience, if they had to upload something that did not correspond.
PD: I hope it is not a horrible English, I do not write much in this language and I use something from Google Translator.

I want you to continue to improve the mod and add more units to complete the new civilizations. East asia africa etc.
If you are crediting the unit creators there is no problem.Good luck on completing.

Thanks, if I'm going to follow, the Asians are already, if you mention the ones in the center of the country, try to add this to the Middle East and the other missing models I will add that are those of German, for example I'm doing this:
Asian units:
- Chinese.
- Japanese.
- Mongols.
- Korean.
- Burmese
- Khmer.
- Malays.
- Vietnamese.
Units of the Middle East and Africa:
- Persians.
- Saracens.
- Turks.
- Indians
- Berbers.
- Malies.
- Ethiopians.
American Units:
- Aztecs.
- Mayas.
- Incas.
Invasive units:
- Byzantines.
- Hunos.
Units of Southern Europe:
- Goths.
- Teutons.
- Vikings.
- Celts
- Magyars.
- Slavs.
And if there are new versions I want to add this:
Euro-Mediterranean Units:
- Spanish.
- Italians.
- Portuguese.
I hope it is to your liking, there are some changes but they are to coincide, the last ones I am thinking because they do not make sense, but this is only an idea.

Celts should have the same set as britons.
Byzantine Hun Slave can be one set.
I made some cavalier units you can use them too.Might make some paladins too if I find some more time to work on them.

Hello, I hope you are well, about the mod of Different Units recently discussed in this forum is in process, is still in development very early, because I'm doing a gamedata from scratch and I'm just finishing the Asian units, I'm seeing some failures as frames and configurations, but to let you know that it is still in process, well what was coming, I wanted to ask if this mod I can publish it on a page like Moddb or on this same platform and have contact with modders that could help me in some things, I want to make a modot independently of others and make a project that can go something bigger than this, I hope an answer, it is also to show you how the progress of the mod is going.
