Shattered Union Preview
Posted by Anastasia on October 25th, 2005 @ 8:20 a.m.
PopTop Software, the developers of the Railroad Tycoon and Tropico series, are aiming at a more ominous subject with Shattered Union, a turn-based strategy game in which players battle to reunify a fractured United States of 2014. Our very own Adder interviewed Franz Felsl, the lead designer for Shattered Union, as a part of his extensive HeavenGames preview of the exciting new game. Adder also asked that we keep an eye out for his review of the game set to be completed soon. So, check it out!
New Developments
Posted by Anastasia on October 6th, 2005 @ 1:49 a.m.
There are new developments for Age of Kings capable of providing a new single player experience being discussed in our forums.

Through a combination of hex editing and further manipulation of the AoKTS, MPS, and GeniEd2 editing programs, our AOKH forum members Oliver and scenario_t_c are poised to expand our AoK single player gaming experience.

Their work promises new units, objects, and effects without need for Mod Packs. This goes beyond what has previously been made available in programs like the GeniEd2.

New units featured in upcoming campaign!

Oliver is creating a campaign titled Lightning and Thunder that will feature many of the new developments. Also from what I understand, is that he plans to have a no hassle install that will allow the average downloader to experience the campaign with confidence and ease. Check out the Project: 'Lightning and Thunder' topic in Scenario Design Forum.

Oliver's and scenario_t_c's work is also relevant to the Mod Pack community too, and is being outlined and discussed in the Mod Pack Forum. Check out the topic Frame-Number and Graphic-Resource Unit Editing in the Mod Pack Forum.

This is a technical discussion, but there are several images posted inside the thread to share your thoughts on. This is all truly amazing stuff, and Oliver put it all into perspective with one of his comments.

" I hope you all realize how big this breakthrough is. There is virtually nothing we can't do with the editor now." - Oliver
