Don't be lurkers now >_>
IT'S FINALLY FINISHED!!!
My original campaign in all of its exhaustively tested, debugged, and improved glory.
This has been a great learning experience...of course the Puss in Boots saga is far from over, but I planned to release the first five scenarios together from the beginning, so it's an exciting moment.
For the story, read the on-screen text and hints/objectives...
A campaign consisting of five scenarios:
- Puss in Boots must seek students.
- Puss in Boots must train his new student.
- Puss in Boots goes to the market and encounters a new challenger...and future student?
- Puss in Boots recruits students right and left! (This scenario has a few hidden goodies too!)
- Puss in Boots ventures eastwards and encounters a new ally and sinister enemies.
Estimated Time To Play: Unknown
(Too long...some of these require a lot of running around and some waiting to heal.)
Difficulty: Easy...ish
Optimal Play Speed: Normal (Or slow for slower readers)
Please rate and comment! Don't be afraid to point out bugs/flaws, and suggestions for improvement appreciated! |

Playability: 1
First of all - this campaign was incredibly boring to play. Barely any triggers or background story, no creativity at all, unclear plot for as far as it existed at all and bad instructions. I only completed it because I wanted to review this and say you seriously should play some good campaigns and try to copy them, aswell as reading some university articles because this is really, really a pointless waste of blacksmith space. No offense to the authot, but to his work, as it was completely boring and uninspired. There were some bugs too which I had to remove manually (playtesting needed in future campaings- you can request them at the Scenario Design&Modding forum).
Balance: 1
I found all of the maps utterly simple and stupifying - I barely needed to think, just click-click-click, no challenge at all. Maybe the lack of instructions made it a bit harder but that won't give you a higher rating, rather a worse one.
Creativity: 1
Totally uninspired. I don't know where this came from, but not from the hands of someone who has played something real. No interesting trigger-work, the dialogues were boring, it was really as plain as campaigns can get.
Map Design: 2
The map design was worse than a random map, but still not totally empty/lined with bare cliffs on grass 1, therefore it deserves a 2. Here again I would like to invite the creator to pay a visit to the University - the campaign lacked eye-candy, terrain mixing and realism, and missed any kind of atmosphere.
Story/Instructions: 2
The instructions were barely provided at best but when they were provided they were clear enough, if not too simple. Too bad though, that they were not always provided. The story was rather superficial; it barely existed. Only a very rough storyline was visisble.
Additional Comments:
Way to go. As I said some times before this review- play some good maps, preferably Ulio to start with as its roughly the perfect campaign, and pay a visit to the university. Also consider having maps playtested by an experienced designer before submitting. |
