The Conquerors 1.0c |
They were coming. Thousands of them. Fear pulsed through everyone of their veins as the thunderous stomp of the Ragnorak's massive boots drew ever nearer. There was no hope. The only one who possessed any kind of hope was a young boy named Artin.
Together you will watch as he and friends Gerth fight for their lives in this epic adventure: Artin- A Humble Defense.

It would greatly improve your chance of receiving potential downloads, and as such comments and reviews, if you include a game description. Visitors will want to what you're offering them, and whether to invest the time to download and play your file.
Having said all that, this particular cinematic shows some potential, and I liked how you managed the scenes around the music. However, the file still needs a lot of work, particularly the map design. Play some top-rated files and watch other cut-scenes that might draw your attention to develop some inspiration. |

I did write a description... Sorry, I'll try it again. Thank you Mashek. Actually, the first cut scene I watched was yours: The Second Kretharn War - The Night of Long Tears. Great job by the way, I loved it. Thank you for the help! |

Well, i have to tell you that "Artin" is nice. However,if you develop a big scenario based on this one(i mean, like cutting a big movie to episodes)i'm sure you'll have great success! If you already did,let me know. |

Playability: 4
By playablility I simply mean both downloadability, and watchablilty. First, when I downloaded it, it had "Artin- A Humble Defense" Installer as the first program on the list. The program did not work, but other than that the cinematic was well scripted and made good use of black backgrounds. Although the main character Artin seemed to jump from place to place without purpose.
Balance: 3
The balance between fighting and waiting was about right, but the battle seemed to essentially flash by, without any emotional resonance, not counting the sound-track.
Creativity: 3
This cinematic was well scripted musically, with cuts in the music indicating changes in scene. On the other hand, the whole "eye-candy" idea wasn't there, but your story didn't quite need it.
Map Design: 3
Unfortunately most of the map remains unseen throughout the piece. Your map didn't really have many "ultra super cool" eye-candy, but once again, your map doesn't really need it.
Story/Instructions: 3
The plot of this story was well developed in the beginning with conventional "right before the son goes to war" dialog between the mother and son, Artin. Further, the introduction for this story was well developed and seeded my emotions for a thrilling tale, but as the battle progressed, it seemed to skip all of the emotional essence that lies within all the good "Lord of The Rings" and "Narnia" battle scenes. There may have been plenty of battle content, but it wasn't connected. One thing that was disappointing was the fact that the main character seemed to abandon his homeland in the mist of the battle as he moved from place to place. This didn't help the sense of dread one bears for Artin's mother. My suggestion would be to try and lessen the number of different battle scenes and increase the length of the main battle scene and add dialog. This would allow the emotions of the viewer to be further seeded as the action rises towards the climax.
Additional Comments:
This probably deserves a sequel. Good use of music, just make sure you have permission.[Edited on 12/29/11 @ 01:54 PM]
