I'm not sure if this is a design trick nobody but me has used before, seeing as the trick is actually very simple. But I don't recall ever seeing it outside my own scenarios.
Using ice and the contrast between deep and shallow water, you can create realistic icebergs and make wintery seas a little more interesting. Or make a Titanic scenario, should you wish.
I discovered this trick while designing "A Christmas Story - Director's Cut", back in 2006, and used it again in my PTC entry of 2008, "Footprints in the Snow". As far as I know, it hasn't been used anywhere else. I could be wrong of course, so tell me if you find an earlier example.
An extremely clever illusion. One of the icebergs are a favourite.

I used a similar technique in "Prison Break" (http://aok.heavengames.com/blacksmith/showfile.php?fileid=10836), though your larger icebergs look much better :)

This utility is a template designed by Lord Basse containing some realistic looking icebergs that he has designed for other designers to use via map copy in their own maps. While one might think that there's only one way to create icebergs in the scenario editor, by using the ice terrain on water, Basse disagrees and has proven that with these very simple but effective icebergs which utilises the shallow water terrain against deeper water surrounding the ice to give the illusion that the iceberg continues deep underwater, as they do in real life. The illusion is very simple but effective and can provide so great detail into a designers map. Whats best is that this template allows you to map copy these icebergs freely, saving you time in designing your own. Overall, it's a wonderful and simple little utility.
