Okay, I've tried looking for anything on this topic, but can't seem to find any answers.
When I create a new unit in the Advanced Genie Editor 3 for Forgotten Empires HD on steam, the new unit won't show up in the scenario editor.
1) I open Adv G Editor 3
2) I link the compressed dat path and languagex_x1_p1.dll to D:\Steam\steamapps\common\Age2HD\Games\Forgotten Empires\Data\empires2_x1_p1.dat
and D:\Steam\steamapps\common\Age2HD\Games\Forgotten Empires\Data\language_x1_p1.dll
3) I copy a unit
4) I add a new unit
5) I paste the desired unit onto the new unit(and make some modifications like making it a hero unit)
6) I save
Is there a step I'm missing? |

Forgotten Empires HD uses x2 files, like empires2_x2_p1.dat and HD now has language entries in plain txt file.
You're welcome, Kallehagen |

Hello, I've tried to start a translation of AGE in french for more ease. The help button say that UPX is used. So i tried upx -d but it say it wasn't compressed using upx. Maybe you just have a language file to send ? You can send me email to specialpopol [at] gmx.fr , if ever. |

I forgot the UPX thing. It has not been used in the last two releases.
There is no language file. Everything is directly hardcoded, but I think I can make a language file for translation purposes. |

This looks to be exactly what we were looking for, but its a bit complex. We just want to change the audio files for the current civilizations, like korea, when someone gathers food. Or when we click the chat box and want to change the sound for 'Monk, I need a monk'. can anyone point us in the right direction? Thanks |

You need a program like Turtle Pack to edit contents of some DRS files. They contain the sound files you are talking about.
sounds.drs and sounds_x1.drs are probably what you are looking for.
If you want to add some sounds when a villager is collecting berries, I think you need to search for forager in units tab, browse all the way down and change the execution sound from -1 to a new sound entry in sounds tab. Then you add sound files to the new sound and choose civilization as Koreans for the files. I don't know if this works, but probably it goes like this.
For replacing the existing sounds, you can look up the action sounds and sounds that only you hear in units tab. Then proceed into sounds tab checking what files they point into in the DRS packages.
The monk help call is located in ...Steam\steamapps\common\Age2HD\Taunt\en\18 I Need a Monk.mp3
Maybe it is "ko" for you, not "en". |
