The Conquerors 1.0c |
This file is a small town with no gameplay - it is essentially a PTC entry with no current contest to enter! The town features lots of buildings crowded into a small area to give the feel of a bustling town. There are no units though, you'll have to add those yourself ;)
Feel free to take any map-copying ideas from it or even create your own game within the town. No credit necessary but I'd like to see what you make if you do use it! |

Some of the map-copied buildings look quite good, and I like the crowded feel of the town. But overall it's just too small to review, and maybe a bit bland with mainly just desert and road terrain. Might've looked better on a larger scale. :) |

Agreed. It would also be good to feature outskirts of the town such as places to gather water, palm trees, roaming desert caravans etc. |

Absolutely, Lord Basse - I didn't expect this to get a review (or even any comments, really!) - I just thought it might come in useful for people wishing to create a desert settlement.
@Mash - a caravan is a good idea; I imagine it would be fairly easy to create an extension to the road through dunes and past oases with palms and people collecting water.

It does look quite nice, but I too miss some context surrounding the town. |

I like it, but it's a bit small. Set within a larger map with the surrounding desert, it could be quite good. |

Yeah go for it pokerrkidd. Might be a good idea to employ the ideas suggested in these comments - make the town a little bigger and provide a bit more outskirty-type stuff :) |

This town by NowhereT is a small desert settlement designed to inspire players on with ideas on how to design a desert settlement. The desert settlement is designed nicely and NowhereT has used the Map Copy tool effectively to create overlapped buildings which look very as ethically pleasing. The use of the cans as stalls on the sides of certain house frames are used well to add the other buildings. The town has a very crowded feel to it which makes it look nice and busy and realistic in terms of the placement of the buildings. The design is nice but the map is unfortunately far too small and bland to be considered for a greater score. The map is quite bland with only a couple of terrains used, much of which is just desert and road. The map is also completely flat with no elevation used at all. It would also have been nice to have seen the outskirts of the town on a slightly larger map so you can see how the town fits into a wider world context.
Additional Comments:
Overal this is a nicely designed town but way to small and bland to really be worth the effort to download it.
Thanks
