Hello, guys.
This is my first truly complete scenario. You are under control of the Barbarian leader Odoacer, who depposed the last Roman emperor. This is a short scenario, but I hope you like them.
Any critiscism is welcome.

This is off to a nice start, and I particularly liked the design of the towns. It's also a good period to cover so keep working at it. In future, might I recommend not submitting two of the same file only three days apart. This file is much better than the version you submitted to projects. ;) |

Thank you. I looked for ancient maps of the cities of Ravenna, Bologna and Parma in order to increase thea accuracy of the designs. I did it originally to the city of Piacenza, but scrapped the design because the city would play only a minor role in the game. What about balance? |

Hello, guys. I checked the problems (there was a problem in some triggers) and fixed some of the related problems:
upgraded gaia units
you start with less soldiers and one less priest
naming triggers fixed

On easiest you get 2 more priests
On hard, the enemy has a mangonel (might consider to move it to post imperial
Roman legions moved from feudal to Imperial (not post-imperial) age
Wooden brige replaced by bridges in order to increase playability |

Ran into a few bugs
-My hero is called Harold Haadrade instead of Odoacer
-once I found "brother John", most of my units were renamed to "brother John" with the exception of other Gaia units I found later- the paladins and throwing axemen
-most serious issue: when I aggroed Red (called "Bononia") I had a bunch of berserkers rush me. Then when I destroyed their castle, I had a few berserkers still in the city turn my colour, but although my stance was force-changed as Ally towards Red, their stance remained Enemy, so I had a bunch of units attacking me while I couldn't fight back. I stopped at that point.
- suspect I might've gone out of sequence on something: I sent my Cavaliers to scout for reinforcements before attacking Bologna and ended up south of the city following the shoreline by the broken bridge south of Parma. Make sure to put a rock on that shore if you don't want players getting there too early!
Also (not a bug per se), in the initial fight it's possible to convert Orestes and then kill him, gaining control over most of his army. Consider making him a hero to avoid this exploit.
Parma's AI was a bit all over the place, sending attack message randomly at one point.
The map looked quite nice, I liked the castle by the waterfall in the north. I hope you can fix those issues. |

Played it again last night, completed this time (avoided finding the missionary just in case)
-as I suspected, converting and deleting Orestes can give you control of his remaining army (in my case it was almost half the legionnaires, a few men at arms and a bunch of archers/skirms)
-when you destroy Red's castle, they ("Bononia") stay hostile. Your diplo-trigger says "Orestes changed diplomacy to Ally" again.
-your starting army can actually take Ravenna itself (on Moderate) without any need for those reinforcement- having a choke on a bridge means you can beat the enemy army piecemeal using the hero to aggro them a bunch at a time.
-like I said, it's a neat scenario, but the triggers and diplomacy need to be sorted out. |
