Big certainly lives up to its name with a massive fortress to assail.
Playability 2
Its B&D with the enemy imperial aged with a huge fort. Its about as playable as any scenario with a basic B&D setup, but annoyingly the player doesnt even start with food to make villagers quickly. The late game falls off in difficulty once the player can handle the enemies mobile field troops, as the vikings civ isnt ideal for defending sieges. The AI has infinite resources but this isnt a long term problem due to their terrible civ and the massive resources existing on the map.
Balance 2
The game looks hard as nails. The enemy has a huge fort, in full B&D mode, with an imperial age force with some hero support. Meanwhile you start in the dark age with next to nothing. Unfortunately the AI is completely stuck due to walling issues and cannot even launch an attack on your base due to this.
Creativity 2
Its sufficiently differentiated from a normal random map to avoid a minimum score.
This scenario does feature the most bizare bug ive ever seen in AoC, or maybe i missed a UP1.4 feature. My Chinese civ acts as if full techs enabled has been ticked, being able to make eagler warriors etc, yet i receive all civ bonuses and attributes in addition.
Map Design 2
Its a custom map that is similar to a random map in quality. The enemy base is reasonably aesthetically pleasing for such a simple effort.
Story\Objectives 1
There is none. The ten words total of text provided isnt sufficient to avoid a minimum score here.
Final Thoughts: Its a below average scenario overall with technical issues. Theres no particular reason to download this scenario.
