Nothing much to see in this map. Just a mountainous area, a few buildings, and possibly a few decent design ideas/concepts. The "pretty town" isn't even there.
Alas, this is the only file version I could manage to salvage from being completely ruined by reckless usage of AoKTS. Don't be surprised if you find many unpolished things here and there!
Anyway, enjoy. :)

Andanu, the finished areas are lovely with great map design. The atmosphere is very convincing. Structural usage looks good. Its very easy to imagine this getting that maximum rating if the entirety map was kept to this standard. |

Thank you Cata :) I doubt the town itself would be any good, it's hard for me to design towns and cities especially when it comes to layout and degree of realism.[Edited on 02/01/18 @ 10:04 PM]

There are some really wonderful bits in this map and, as Cata mentioned, the atmosphere is on point. Rediscovering the world from the point of view of a released prisoner is a novel and very effective way of bringing purpose to the exploration. Had it been finished, I'm convinced it would have been a top contender in the PTC. |

Thank you for the encouraging words, Basse! :)
Credits mostly go to Basse's Sagropireia and Matty's Smile No More. I was trying to create a similar atmosphere of loneliness, but this time, it's in a region full of living crowd. Got the inspiration after rewatching Shawshank Redemption. :p |

Tristessa is Trisatya's unfinished entry to the Pretty Town Contest. Trisatya was unable to finish the project so has uploaded what he has done here for our viewing. Becuase this file is intended to been seen as a Showcase scenario, meaning only to be viewed and looked at for its map design, scores such as playability and balance do not apply and therefore get an automatic score of 5. I will also only be taking into account the finished aspects of the scenario, as there are many blank areas that were unfinished.
Playability: 5
Not applicable, see above.
Balance: 5
Not applicable, see above.
Creativity: 5
Tristessa incorporates many creative elements into its map design, most noticeably is Trisatya's use of off-grid placement to create many new buildings styles and cool looking objects. The use of Town Centre edges was a particular highlight, especially the one used over a bridge to create a cave entrance. The waterfalls were also designed uniquely using elevated snow to show water falling down, with fish at the bottom to demonstrate the water splashing. There are also some clever trigger tricks throughout the map too such as units fighting each other as though training and use of shoreless shallows which require Trigger Studio to do.
Map Design: 5
The map design is incredibly beautiful. The large area of farms and plants is designed really well and there is also a nice mine. The town/settlement incorporates unique building designs and the are spaced out well. The use of off-grid placement and map copy is done well and buildings are mixed well together. Mountains are used well and create an beautifully designed landscape. Trisatya shows excellent competency with the map editor and has used terrain mixing superbly.
Story/Instructions: 5
Trisatya has created an incredible atmosphere for this scenario. Inspired by Lord Basse's Sagropireia and Matty's Smile No More Pretty Town entries, he has used effective design and sound files to create an atmosphere of loneliness and isolation for the main character. There is also a hint of story which is shown kin the introductory screen and short opening cutscene which starts with an extract from the song Tristessa by the Smashing Pumpkins. The player can also take their character around the map and talk to other units that they come across.
Additional Comments:
Overall this is a beautifully designed map that is definitely worth checking out. It was a shame that Trisatya didn't finish this as I imagine it would have been an exceptional entry to the contest and a possible winner.
Well done Andan

Thank you very much Possidon for taking your time to write such an excellent review for merely a largely unfinished showcase map. Appreciate it. :)
Getting a perfect score might encourage me to finish the map. Hopefully! |

I based my review on the finished parts which were truly beautiful. I'd definitely love to see what you had planned and a full version of it. |
