Felwood and Darkshore

Author File Description
File Details
Version: Age of Empires II (2013): Rise of the Rajas
A map of Darkshore and Felwwood (Warcraft) created with PHP SCX Editor 2.4.31. This map contains only terrain; no building and no unity. Maybe later, I would do a scenario ...

This map is empty. You can create your scenario without worrying about creating the map.
This is the first time I post. Sorry for my English, I'm not English speaking;)

Good creation

Felwood and Darkshore is a showcase scenario based off the land of the same name from Warcraft.

Rating: 1
Unfortunately I was not a fan of this map. Some effort has clearly been put into the scenario with clear intent and thought used to base the map of an already existing franchise. However the final result is a very poor and ugly looking map.

My biggest complaint with the map is the blandness of it. There is a very limited variety of terrains and objects placed onto it and no visible effort to make the blend and mix together at all. This leaves the map look like it split into different sections without a smooth flow between them. There is no elevation used at all so the map is completely flat except for some cliffs. Some of the worst offenders of this are the random snow area which is surround by desert style Dirt 1 and the Random pools of deep water. Beyond the blandness of the terrain the only other thing of note in the scenario is a bunch of tree and some ruins. However, these are completely overloaded with piles of the same object stacked up upon each other with little care for placement or layout. The ruins are simply huge piles of Roman Ruin objects interspersed with Rubble and Fire. The trees are even stranger in the sense that theres basically only of couple of tree rotations in the vast forest. Over half of the trees on the map are ugly Tree F which makes the forest completely unrealistic as no tree is the same in real life.

Additional Comments:
Unfortunately this is not a very good concept for a showcase scenario and not worth the time to look at. Alot of work is needed to make it even slightly aesthetically pleasing and worthwhile.
