A lone explorer approaches the heart of the Congo rainforest; the site of a legendary city, older than recorded history, now inhabited by natives with no memory of the men who built the ruins they now dwell in...
This is a showcase scenario I put together for ZeroEmpires monthly design contest.
Fallen Empire is a small showcase scenario by Lord Basse which was designed as an entry to ZeroEmpires design contest

Despite the small size of this map, there isn’t a single inch of it which isn’t a wonderfully designed thing of beauty. Basse is one of the legends of showcase scenario design, having won a number of Pretty Town Contests and come a close runner up in those he hasn’t won. This scenario is Basse’s first piece of work using the Definitive Edition and utilising it’s editors new features.
Set within a remote village in the jungle of the new world this map showcase some lavish jungle set pieces, many creative design tricks and an overall beautiful design. There are some wonderfully creative designs to be found in the scenario, some of my personal highlights are the flaming statues, which utilise carefully placed torches beyond a statue, and the wonderfully ingenious bridge across the river. The small village is nicely designed with a good building layout Interweaving between the Jungle trees and ruins of the old kingdoms. There are also some nicely creative temples and ruins that represent the remains of the titular Fallen Kingdom.

Overall this is a wonderful design of showcase design and a highlight to demonstrate the capacities of the DE editor. A highly recommended download.
