Perion is based on the realm of the same name from the game MapleStory. It is a land of proud warriors and unknown dangers, and it is your job to explore it. The town itself is nicely designed and showcase's the designers unique design skills. The definitive edition's assets have been utilised well to create some excellent looking landscapes and town elements. I loved some of the design tricks in this showcase scenario such as the overlapped buildings and caves, as well as the paths that have been strategically placed on elevation to resemble stairs. Its a nice idea, though doesn't always come off as successful in some areas. Overall the fantastic layout and placing of terrains and objects is beautiful to behold yet I feel as though there is something a bit weird about the whole design. Maybe its the fact that you have a mixture of deserty dirt terrains and snow merged together that looks odd. On the other-hand the interactivity is great and as you walk around there is so much to see and interact with. The dialogue with NPCs is fun and theres plenty of soldiers training and performing other tasks. There are a few pathfinding issues due to the off-grid placing of objects. A prime example is when my character managed to walk underneath the wonder right at the top of the map.

Overall Period is a fantastic showcase scenario. While there are a few small issues I have with it, I recommended checking out this great piece of design.
