It looks very good, snow landscape and so on. Very creative but only funny for a first time. There is absolutely no gameplay so that is disappointing.
The surprises, Santa, a fisherman and the boats, were good but not enough to make me laugh.
The hockeygame was very well simulated with pikemen, also when Timmy thinks about his present is a cool thing.
Map is also not very inspiring.
Overall: too short, too little gameplay, but a very creative scn. Download if you want to get in a Christmas mood! |

This one was crazy funny, especially since I'm a big AoE nerd. The pikemen (I think they were pikemen, right?) playing hockey were priceless, especially considering the neighbor's kids had a big, fat, red "ENEMY" on the status.
Great work. |

This is a fairly funny little interactive cutscene that takes place on christmas morning. It starts off with all the children coming out to get presents then you can look around at various things ranging from a toy shop to a jolly red coated king with reindeer. it has many funny parts to it like when Jimmy imagines what his present is. One of the best parts is the hockey game. A very good use of triggers and pikemen to make it look real. ( If only you could see the puck). The downside was the map and the shortness. The story took place on one small island with a color changing red and green tent and a tree. However I still recomend this to anyone trying to get into the summer christmas spirit, and everyone else to.[Edited on 06/21/07 @ 08:23 AM]

That kinda.. yea, I know it sounds weird.. was totally totally totally totally totally one of the worst scenarios I have ever played. No offense, but the only good thing was the iceskating and the sounds. The map design was strange and unrealistic, the snowfall system was creative but looked very strange and the presents were even stranger, as no kid would dream of a siege ram or cannon galleon as a present.
I know it might sound as if I am jealous, but I am not. I do envy your amount of dls though, but thats out of the question. [Edited on 09/15/08 @ 03:48 PM]

You miss the point; it's a scenario based on AoK, not on a child's realistic christmas day. It's meant to be funny, a parody of the game we all love to play.
Also, remember, the game was made in 1999 - that's almost a decade ago. Think of people's reactions when something like this came out! Even in such a case, the cut-scene, which is perhaps the first of its kind, is still a creative and entertaining piece of work. :-)[Edited on 09/15/08 @ 03:48 PM]

Playability: 5
Christams morning is a lovely little scenario about Christmas Morning in the Frank's houme. it is mainly a cutscene scenario but with a small playable bit were you control little Timmy and explore the small island you live on. there are also a few secrets on the island. yoyu can play this every day and still not get bored by the enbd of the month.
Balance: 5
As this is mainly cutscene I will rate the Balance like a cutscene. I did not find any dodgy timing sequences or overlapped music. Everything went through smoothly at a nice pace and the dialog was not too fast or not too slow so I didn't miss anything.
Creativity: 5
This is still one of the most creative (and oldest) scenarios in the Blacksmith. I like the idea of Relics being the presents and game they were football playing at the end. Theb Red Robed King (A.K.A Santa Clause) and his reindeer were cool and so was the Fisherman on water. I also like the Christmas Hut which changed colour.
Map Design: 5
Becuase the Age of kings editor doesn't provide colour, Yogurt has had to copy it from the Ghengis Kahn Campaign. On Christmas Morning it snows turning the flower covered island white. The island is small and covered in flowers and snow. there is a christmas tree and the island is surrounded by water. A wonderful piece of design Yogurt.
Story/Instructions: 5
A very creative and fun story which is mainly cutscene. It is short but is very enjoyable andclever. it is a scenario which you can play all the time without getting bored. There is a nice Bitmap which reminds me of a Christmas Card and a reame which is full of helpful hints. The Instructon are nice and clear too.
***** - 5 stars

I'm playing this, 18 years after it was released, the same day. It is amazing. I wish I was born a bit earlier. This scenario is 4 years older than me.
