JOHN_G'S SUMMARY

This is a series of cut-scenes (11-14 min total) showing Jesus in Gethsemane, the night before his death on the cross, and then on Golgotha.

The story:

The scenario begins with Jesus and his disciples going into garden of Gethsemane, which lies just outside the city of Jerusalem. Jesus who had lived all his life in Gods presence now have to suffer a dark night carrying the sins of the whole human race. As it was written: "the Lord has laid on Him the iniquity of us all".

The following morning Jesus was captured and about to be put to death on a cross by some Jewish leaders who saw Jesus as a liar and heretic. But Jesus had told his disciples three time the last week that this had to happen. Jesus know he had to suffer death, because it was Gods will. But be not afraid, I am to rise from death the third day, Jesus also said.

RAKOVSKY'S NOTES FOR VERSION 2 (AOE2:TC 1.0c Edition)

In 2008, John_G released "Jesus in Gethsemane", a haunting, beautiful cinematic of Jesus' Passion in Gethsemane and Golgotha.

It used flags instead of crosses. So I used Vardamir's Genie Converter to convert Roman General 4238's "Crucified man(cross)" Mod found in the AOK Heaven Games Blacksmith to work with the AOK HD version. Then I used the converted Mod to add crosses to the Golgotha scene.

This "Jesus in Gethsemane Version 2 (AOE2:TC 1.0c Edition)" Folder includes the edited "Jesus in Gethsemane Version 2" scenario and its AI and music files. But it doesn't include the "Crucified Man(cross)" Mod, which you must download separately. In this Scenario's Readme file, I am including detailed instructions on how to install that cross Mod on AOE2:TC 1.0c.

This "Version 2" file might work properly only on AOE2:TC 1.0c, and not on the HD Steam or "DE" game versions, because the cross Mod might use a different Pavilion unit on those editions. If you want to play this Scenario on the HD Steam version, I recommend using "Jesus in Gethsemane, Version 2 (AOE2 HD Steam Edition)" instead, available here: http://aok.heavengames.com/blacksmith/showfile.php?fileid=13649

POST-GAME BONUS SCENES

- Jesus' Palm Sunday entrance to the south of the city.
- The Temple and its courtyards in the city's north where Jesus drove out the animals for sale.
- Jesus gathering with His disciples in the southwest of the city.
- The Antonia Fortress in the north and the judgment by Pilate.
- Herod's palace in the west where Jesus was also judged by Herod.
- Jesus' resurrection in the east corner. Nota Bene: Tradition generally considers Jesus' tomb to be to the north or northwest side of the city.

Game settings:

1. When you set up the Scenario in the Standard Game Menu, set "Data Set" in the upper right corner of that menu to "Original Dataset"
2. Set "Speed" and "Reveal Map" to Normal
3. Make sure that the Players' Teams are set to - .
4. Set the Players' AIs to "ADVANCED IMMOBILE UNITS AI".
5. Set Resources and other settings to "Standard" if they have that option.
6. Checkmark "Lock Teams".
7. In the Options menu, set the Sound On and turn it loud enough that you can hear the sound effects, because the Scenario's special music plays as a Sound file.
8. Turn your normal game Music Setting bar all the way down so that it doesn't interfere with the Scenario's music.
9. Avoid pausing during the cut-scenes because the musical score only plays for a limited amount of "real time".
