After 3 weeks of work I just finished what I believe could be the ultimate ludicrous sized map based on Earth.
My friends and I played the official Earth map a couple times and since it was not possible to edit the map I decided to start from scratch and try to make it as detailed as possible.
I got some inspiration from another map I found on an age forum but as far as I know nobody ever dared to make a ludicrous version so I made it myself.
We played it with 6 friends yesterday to test things out and made some modifications to get more optimal routes for armies to go through and less cluttered and stuck units.
There are 2 versions of the map!
One is a Nomad start and everyone starts with a single transport ship with 3 vils and 1 scout inside. And I would advice you to play with fog of war for more fun! There are a couple secrets on the map to find too!
2nd one is also a Nomad start but based on the civ you choose you start in the location they originate from. (example: You play with persians, you start with a packed town center in Persia). I did this for all 37 civs inc the new ones (lord of west DLC). I would advice playing this one with friends and random civs for extra fun!
The resources I would say is still quite a bit high at the moment but I really need to test the map a couple more times to get an idea of how much I need to take out! I kinda went overboard with adding details and extra’s.
The general idea right now is every continent has it’s ups and downs. Africa, lots of resources but high danger(a lot of wild animals) Australia, lots of stone & gold less wood, etc…

(For the newbies) How to play my map:
Save the file in the following folder C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\AoE2DE\resources_common\scenario
or
C:\Program Files (x86)\Users[Your user folder]\Games\Age of Empires 2 DE\resources_common\scenario
Depending on which platform you play on.
If you want to edit go to single player → Editor and you should see it in the list.
If you want to play click on game mode and change it from “Random Map” to “Custom Scenario” and choose the scenario from the list. AI does not work currently unless Town Center is specified (they don't ungarrison transport ships in nomad ship start or unpack the packed town center in my CIV start version)
