This is the aftermath of Vlad the Impaler's execution by the order of Emperor Matthias Corvinus of Hungary in the city of Visegard.
Your hero is a one of Vlad's most trusted Generals by the name of Victor Apostu, when Victor heard the dire news that the King of Wallachia had been executed, he swore that he would one day kill the Hungarian Emperor and do something what Vlad couldn't, and that is to conquer all of Europe.
