Dear friends,
as in above comment, some but not all users experience this problem. Thane Wulfgarn from moddb, had the following advice to offer:
"Oh man sorry. I just saw the reply. No actually I didn't do exactly that.
I went to "Games" folder and renamed "vii" to "avs" (xml files). Then I run through "avs.exe" the executable of part I (since they were both installed in the same folder).
So on simple words it requires "vii" of games folder renamed to "avs" and then it needs to run through the avs.exe of part I.
I don't know if I'm being clear."
I could not fix the error more directly, because it does not occur on my laptop at all. Best of luck,
