Required Modpack (if not included with the download):
This is the third scenario in the John Mendl Campaign series - the first being 'Life in the Alps' and the second being 'The Control of Bavaria'. There is no necessity that you should play those scenarios to play this. For those who who wish to know the brief history of those scenarios, refer the README document in this ZIP file. If you really need, you can download those scenarios from AoKH blacksmith - but be assured that 'Into Swabia' is of a much higher level of quality.
UserPatch V1.4 is harmless and adds support for enhanced designing features. Okay, now let us get back to what this scenario is about.
Description of this Scenario:
After the takeover of Bavaria, Mendlons under John Mendl are getting ready for a special mission in Swabia, another duchy under the Holy Roman Empire. Frederick III has mobilized his forces to defend Swabia with the help of the Swabian Army (under the Duke of Swabia) and the Bohemian Army.
John Mendl has set his eyes on the Swabian town of Heilbronn - which is his own hometown and the birthplace of the Mendlon movement. He is hatching a plan to wrest control of the town - and he does not want to go brute-force right away. Frederick's Imperial Army is extremely powerful - a full-out attack right now would be unwise. Play John Mendl 3. Into Swabia to find out John's plans and how he tries to implement them.
Features of this Scenario:
*A quest-filled adventure that relies on strategic decision-making. Uses a Large (8 Player) map and will take a long time to complete. There is no build and destroy at all.
*Multiple ways to play the game - Some of your decisions will significantly alter the course of the game. Map usage is extensive.
*Introduces the Mendlon civilization and their unique unit - the Mellory. Mellories are swordsmen with powerful armor against both melee and archer attacks, but with less attack.
*Witness the exquisite beauty of the countryside of Swabia as you travel around on your action-packed mission.
*Filled with events that make you witness the story of John Mendl and his fight against Frederick III and what the Swabian populace is going through under Frederick's rule.
*593 Triggers overall.
NOTE: The game is best played on NORMAL speed (especially for the dialogues). However, do not hesitate to switch to FAST speed on occasions where a long walk is required. Turn the Music Volume OFF - there is custom music and that relies on your Sound Volume which you can keep at a comfortable level.
This is best played on either MODERATE or HARD difficulty level. HARD is the most challenging. MODERATE is slightly easier. STANDARD is much easier and is advisable for those who find this challenging beyond what they can handle.
Side Note: If you encounter the rare issue of game crashing at exactly 3:24, DO NOT WORRY. Just play the game again and it will run. Crashes are very rare (maybe in most computers, they never happen at all).
