Number of scenarios: 5
Hold onto your butts, ladies, 'cause it's time to walk . . . The Outlaw's Road!

After picking the wrong side in a civil war, Sir Llewellyn Thornby, Knight of Rutherford, is sentenced to a life of exile and transported to the Shark Islands, there to be marooned and left to die. Sir Thornby, however, has other plans. He and a small band of outlaws are determined to survive, and, moreover, to find a way to exact their vengeance on the people who put them in this state.

This is made easier by the discovery that the Cardelian Wars may not be entirely over. High Minister Terraco, Master of Beasts and the very man who masterminded Sir Thornby's outlawry, has launched his own bid for power, attempting to complete the long-coveted conquest of Hongdaugapatang. As the constant thunder of guns is joined by the ponderous tramp of elephants and the howls of ravening wolves, this might just be the moment of chaos the outlaws are going to need.

This story is told in 5 parts:

Part 1, The Outlaw's Road: A straightforward B&D scenario. Command Sir Thornby and his ragtag band as they establish a camp and make their first strike, seizing the southern Temple of Purity from the Keepers of the True Faith before the Cardelian merchant marines can do the same.

Part 2, The Perilous Road: A defend-the-spot scenario. Sir Thornby has found a strong ally in the Beg Joan, a fellow outlaw who commanded a mercenary cavalry company during the war. Trade with Joan's camp for resources and defend your new nation's eastern borders from the ancient and powerful Heliophiloi, who are none too happy about having a bellicose new neighbor.

Part 3, Death Comes for the Archbishop: A modified fixed-force scenario. We flash back to the civil war and the blasphemous act for which Sir Thornby was outlawed. The enemies arrayed against you are mighty, but your friend's incompetence might be your greatest foe of all.

Part 4, Rhoventia's Burning: A B&D scenario. The Beg Joan matches Sir Thornby's tale of sacrilege and outlawry with one of her own, recounting her deeds during the civil war. Take command of a band of mercenary cavalry who, stiffed on pay and short on food, decide to take the reasonable course of action and raze the Cardelian capitol to the ground.

Part 5, All Roads Lead: A modified fixed-force scenario (and our second unintentional MATN reference). We return to the present. The Shark Men, pleased to discover that the outlaws are just as upset about having been made cats' paws as the Shark Men are to have them there at all, have lent their strength on land and sea for an offensive to push the Cardelian merchant marines out of the islands once and for all. It'll be hard going, though, as not one but two old friends have returned to the field, to wield the power of faith, and to unleash all manner of beasts . . .

(As you might’ve guessed from the name, this campaign and its setting are heavily inspired by Path of Exile. You won’t see any familiar names here and I like to think I’ve done a lot more than just file off the serial numbers, but the influence is strong enough that I’d feel remiss in not making some mention of it, if only to let you know that PoE is awesome and lots of fun and it's free on Steam)
