Ok this was alot of work but finally version 1 is ready. This is a
fantasy map (the britons are not really the britons etc). You
control the city of Evermore. The city has been attacked by 3
enemies and you got almost nothing left except some soldiers and
villagers. But you heard that the king sent an army to Evermore
that will free the city and defeat your enemies. But it will take
some time and you'll have to hold the city till it arrives. And even
after it's arrival, it won't be easy to defeat 3 strong computer
opponents! Have fun! |

Playability: This was by far the best fixed force scenario I've played to date, the author threw in a few side missions which made it more interesting. Each of your opponents have different town layouts and units to fight you with which mixes things up a bit, making for an altogether fun game. However, two things pulled this score down: 1. The scenario lagged from beginning to end because you have so many units, and 2. there's no victory trigger, so after you kill your opponent kings and they surrender you still don't win :(
Balance: Although it took me quite awhile to win, I found that I overmatched my opponents. It would have been nice if the author gave us a few less units to ease up on the lag and to make the game a little more challenging.
Creativity: There wasn't anything really outstanding on the creative side. But it was a solid production.
Map Design: The map looked good, but the city you command is the thing that caught my eye. I haven't seen a better looking big city anywhere.
Story/Instructions: The initial story was good and made the game interesting to get into. I was disappointed however at the in-game instructions. The objectives screen could have been, but wasn't used at all.
Final Comments: This was a good scenario and I had fun playing it, I suggest you d/l it and give it a try, especially if the author inserts a victory trigger and some better instructions. |

The city of Evermore has gone through a long period of peace and prosperity. However, war now knocks at its gates. The Teutons in the North, Franks in the East and Saracens in the south have formed a formidable alliance with one goal: the destruction of Evermore. Reinforcements are on the way, but how long can you hold out...?
Unfortunately, this scenario does not live up to its description. The enemy does nothing more than send out a scout every ten minutes, and the objectives are lengthy and boring. The designer has made one huge mistake: setting the Victory Condition to conquest. Furthermore, triggers have not been utilized at all. On the whole, it's really not worth playing. The breakdown:
Story/Instructions:
The story is nothing new, a commonly used plot, and the style of writing is nothing special either.
Map Design: The city is badly designed, and as for the rest of the map, all the designer has done is create random areas of forest and a few cliffs and roads.
Playability: Boring. You don't even feel like playing it the first time.
Balance: Highly imbalanced, as you are provided with a huge force as compared to the enemies' few dozen soldiers.
Creativity: As mentioned before, the designer has hardly used any triggers. There are only two dialogues in the whole scenario! This would be acceptable only if the rest of the scenario was outstanding.
On the whole, a rather poor scenario, unfortunately. Don't waste your time downloading it. |

Don't be so fast in jumping to conclusions!
This guy released his version a lot earlier than Bon did, so he might blame Bon instead :{. |

My jaws dropped when I saw this in the new reviews list... but cut the blaming. You may be out of the forums, but you are still subjected to forum rules. |
