In this scenario you are given the chance to live Age of Empires as a citizen of a massive city. You sleep, eat, work, and buy what you need. The scenario includes interaction with the city's people, city entertainment, real city movements, and an occasional joke. I gave up on this scenario at about 90% completion, with no end in site, so dont be surprised to find gaps. The scenario has no story line, you simply live. Feel free to edit for personal use, but do not redistribute edited versions with out the author's permission.
How do i request a rating on this scenario? |

O.K I downloaded this because it looked original, and I was thinking: The sims for AOK, well it ain't half a bad idea. However, I already knew it wasn't gonna be much because the creator is completely unkown and the file was small.
Anyway here is my rating:
Playability:
Due to many bugs, the plauyibilty was low, you could do a lot of stuff, like get jobs, eat in restaurants etc. but some of the stuff just didn't work because the triggers were messed up. someimes the game got pretty confusing and I couldn't do anything because I had about a million dialoges open and I didn't know what to do and I couldn't really fo anything.
Balance:
The game is very easy, it's not supposed to be hard, you just play, play, play and play until you get bored (it won't take long). The fact that there isn't any difficulty in the game takes the rating down.
Creativity:
This got a 3 because the scenario is creative and original. I haven't seen anything along these lines in my life. Some of the things you could do were very original but the bugs generaly made some impossible.
Map design:
The map design was nothing special, the city was pretty square but some places were quite nice. Not a patch on Nyctophobia, Tamerlane, etc.
Story instructions:
The game doesn't have a storyline, and you don't get any proper instructions in the game, so I can only give the lowest rating her I'm afraid.
On the whole I'd say this scenario had a spark of being good but a lot more work was needed. |

Really disapointed in that rating... Not to whine or anything but it was rather bias. Doesnt matter, i knew the rating would suck for 2 reasons:
1. I had never heard the authors name
2. His name wasnt very long
There are bugs, but not that many bugs. Most of the bugs are just unfinished parts of the game, but ill leave that at a 2.
It's really not that easy of a game. There are things in the game that cost over 10,000 gold... its not like you just get a job and buy everything, you have to save up, and you have to pay for food, and pay rent on extra housing, and if you buy a company that doesnt make any money you have to pay for it too. I think balance deserves a 3.
Creativity... youve got to be kiding me. ill quote the author:
"I haven't seen anything along these lines in my life. Some of the things you could do were very original but the bugs generaly made some impossible."
How much more creative can you get?! And bugs should play no role in creativity, your not rating bugs, your rating creativity.
As for map design, i think it was rather good, if not great. I get tired of hearing people say "not enough eye candy" Eye candy can get a tad bit corny. And its not "too boxy" I think some of you overly artistic editors need to take a look at the world around you, neighborhoods are square, not round ugly peices of eye candy everywhere. I guess this is just my personal preference.
Okay, the instructions did suck.
This is just my personal opinion of the rating, maybe im wrong. |

Hey thats quite nice, but I don't understand what the point of some of the things are like the zoo or going to China.
Another problem is that you don't really have to save up for to long, you can make over 1000 a day quite easily but nethertheless this is most enjoyable to play and you should add more features ect in an upgraded version. |

Bugs and unfinished parts of the game are practicly the same thing, both usually disable something, and things like buying food at markets and eating it had no logic to it.
Not easy. Some of the stuff was expensive, but one thing that wasn't was food, and if you kept yourself eating you could just save up for it. You could have done a LOT better here.
As for creativity. If you made yourself wings and tried to fly to mars, but the wing were to toilet brushes put together because you couldn't make anything better I would be able to see some creativity but it would be obscured by the poor quality and absurd use. The bugs drowned stuff out, and it's not as if you introduced anything new, you werejust changing the look of things.
Eyecandy, well this is going to be an interesting point. You do see square neighbourhoods in real life, but:
a) Are they eye appealing
b) Is this real life, and if it's suppposed to be is the scenario exactly realistic
c) Do you see gas staions next to blacksmiths in real life.
Get off it man, it really was boxy. The only part I really like was the holiday resort.
And you had a LOT of finishing off to do, buildings that did nothing, emty parts of the map, not enouhg jobs etc. So stop critisising tis review all the time and just *Fucking* make the scenario better or ask someone else to review it, OK. |

Awesome scenario! How could you get bored of making such a good one? I think you should update it and really finish it! I only have one complaint, I had to have my friends notify me you could get a job, and a whole lot of other stuff! In your instructions, at least you could tell people what you can do! Also, why did you make yourself quit after 4 days? I deleted that trigger, cause its 10X funner that way! On the other hand, AWESOME JOB! Lots of triggers! Worth the download, but its a lot better if you know what you can do, maybe you could get more people that way |

If your going to rate this scenario, you might do well to write about why you gave it that rating in each area, if you dont it will be removed. |

The game was awsome but there were some bad parts. For one the hours were not long enough, but if you tried to edit it and make them longer it messed up the whole game how do i edit the time with out meesing it up |

I have one bug which is really annoying. For example, I accidently click on the guy in front of a restaurant and he tells me to click on the restaurant to eat there. I decided not to and goes off. Then I come back and forgeting, the trigger was still on, I click on the restaurant and it fills me (against my will of course).
I think there should be a deactiv trigger so that after 20 seconds the restaurant-food deactivates. The restaurant is lopping and the deactiv is a timer trigger which is off and activated when the restaurant trigger starts.
Omega
P.S. I think you should lock teams. BTW, two of the enemies resigned on the beginning of the second day. |
