Iman was attacking and destroying nearby towns and he is coming your way. Can El Cid and Guy Josselyne stop him with the help of Merlin? The Demo's first part consists of a well done click and talk cut-scene.
PLAYABILITY: I enjoyed watching the opening cut-scene, which has a good pace and replay value. As the Demo is quite short we have to wait for the full scenario, which looks promising. 3
BALANCE: The only fight was balanced between your hero and an enemy unit with comparable hit points, but impossible to loose. As Fight against a Magier is mainly a cut scene, the average of the four other categories will be given for balance. 3
CREATIVITY: High creativity, tricks and triggers, a cut-scene, good in game developing story, a click and talk feature where you set your own pace, giving you time to read. I liked the magic, transferring units into sheep and back. 4
- Your creativity is high and you will certainly aim for higher rated scenarios in the future.
MAP DESIGN: The map is done from scratch and at first glance it looks inferior to a random map. A flat map with a too large road and nicely placed trees which grow on that road. Playing the map, makes you enjoy the eye-candy and the talent of the author. 3
- Develop your own style, use elevations, make your maps beautiful and be realistic with your future design.
STORY/INSTRUCTIONS: In game objectives and a story which develops. Not enough for a higher rating. 2
- This is sad, you know better.
OVERALL: Worth to download and I look forward to the full scenario. |

Imam a powerful magier has been destroying towns in your area and is now headed your way.
While talking with your commanding army officer Guy Josselyne you receive word from a scout that Imam is headed your way.
Playability: This cut-scene was done fairly well and was somewhat enjoyable although there were a few things that need some work. There were many spelling mistakes that could have easily been corrected; also the lack of a view change at certain points was a bothersome. For the time that you gain control of your character, El Cid Campeador you mainly spend riding back and forth between two towns with little to do. This also took away from the playability. 2
Balance: This category is related to the skill of the player and is somehow subjective, as the reviewer rates, if the scenario was too hard/easy to complete for him/her or if the scenario was well balanced. You cannot loose a cut-scene, as you have no enemies, but the review system demands a rating here, even though there is no balance. The category is rated by taking the average of the four other categories. If the numerical value has a fraction, the next higher figure will be the rating for balance. 3
Creativity This cut-scene had great creativity. There was use of a click to talk method of cut-scene letting the player read at his or her own pace, there were also multiple magic spells, and a very creative story. 4
Map Design The Map Design was decent but could be much better with some work. This map consisted of a lot of grass and road; it lacked terrain mixing and the use of elevation. There were some nice bits of eye candy that put this map at about the position of a randomly generated one. 3
Story/Instructions This demo included a very creative and easy to follow story along with the use of in game objectives. But some parts of the story weren’t very clear and the many spelling mistakes made some things hard to understand. 2
Overall 2.8
This is a nice interactive cut-scene that did its job of getting you interested in the full version.
