This is my own little version of a random Shangri-La map. Meaning it won't look like what you envision your Shangri-La to be. On it you'll find many sheep, deer, and shorefish, almost to the pt of being ridiculous. You'll also find alot of pine forest, because i'm from canada, and bamboo, because i'm obsessed with the orient as of now. You'll also find mtns, rocks, signs, flowers etc, cause I like to make things purty. ;) It also has a tendency to be a little cluttered at times, so more than 4-5 players might not be advisable. Oh yeah, each player is only allocated 2 gold and 2 stone per player specifically, the rest that is on the map is dependent on map size, not number of players. Don't worry though, there's still alot.
Criticism is welcome on technical issues on the map (ie ponds spanning elevations, despite my best efforts), but not what it looks like.
You'll find my email addy in the shangri-la.rms file at the beginning. Have fun!
Sorry about having to put two comments, it didn't show up in the last one.

Hey Svede,
go to this website if u want the detailed explanation
http://www.press.uchicago.edu/Misc/Chicago/493105.html
basically it's a meaning of everything being preserved and good and true. check out http://www.pbs.org/edens/bhutan/
this website is about bhutan, a country just above india that is still covered by 2/3rds of its original forest coverage. I watched a short documentary at the Best of Banff Mtn Film Festival on Bhutan: the last shangri-la a number of years ago and have been basically infatuated with it ever since.
On a note about the map: i've played it a few times now, and have realized there are a few things that need fixing, hopefully i'll get a chance to update it soon.
