The Conquerors 1.0c |
Hello all!
Yes, this mod is finally out. Look at the forms for more info. However, I will explain the mod for people who do not have access to the forms. Here we go!
This mod replaces Furious The Monkey Boy with a king that I put together. Unlike other kings in the game, this one can attack...very well I might add. Now, you may be wondering what the other king (non-attacking) is replaced with. A SCRIBE! This scribe was made pixel by pixel by me. It was very very very very very HARD...but, I managed to get it all done. The graphics for it look very good (or at least I think so...). Some may want to keep this mod in there game, some may not. I don't really care. The mod is compatible for both options and will not get annoying. The Reigine game (wrong spelling but oh well) is different now too. It's a scribe instead of a king that you have to kill...it makes the game a bit more exciting. If you haven't played that game mode before, START NOW...it's very fun! This mod has .dll eciting in it and replaces Reigine instructions as well as unit names that were replaced. I hope you find this mod fun...it was very hard to make...I like it a lot. I hope you all do too! A comment or two would be cool...along with a rating if anyone can.
Thanks!
That is all.

The Mod Pack replaces Furious the Monkey Boy with the ES alpha or beta version of a mounted hero with a lance, named King. Furthermore, a blackened Joan of Arc unit, named scribe with the face of Jean Bureau, replaces the King units, the King, Shah and King Alfonso. The mod pack is for the conquerors expansion, for the AoK version you can only replace the King and Shah with a scribe.
USEFULNESS/NOVELTY: The mounted King looks much better than the original unit does, but the use is limited if there is any. The Mod replaces a unit that does not work accordingly, it is not King like with all the disadvantages of the monkey, he snarls, is slow, follows at the end if he does, is low on HP, does not garrison in castles, towers and town centres, nor does he board a boat. In addition, the game has already King units with high AP, like King Richard or King Arthur. To use a scribe for regicide games is peculiar, apart from that it only adds a third Joan of Arc figure to the game. The novelty value is limited to the scribe, who is creative, but the same King Mod exists already in Mod ID 94 “King” which is more useful. 2.0
QUALITY/INSTRUCTIONS: The graphics are excellent and being ES units, consistent with the game, but the movement is too slow for a mounted unit. A nice extra, the MPS includes a language.dll. With regard to instructions, the author’s description informs what the mod pack is for and what it replaces, but is somehow confusing to say the least. Quote “This mod replaces Furious The Monkey Boy with a king that I put together”, as said, the same King exists for Mod ID 94; it is the ES alpha version of a hero with a lance. And quote “This scribe was made pixel by pixel by me”, to correct three days later, “The scribe, yes, it was the Joan of Arc thing with black”. 3.0 |
