Chronos has been one of the best rulers of Sokar\'s Empire. He was so good, that he attemped to overthrow Sokar himself! Much to his dismay, his sneak attack was found, and Sokar\'s best Warlock, Mephisto was sent after him. Noone would be walking out of his realm alive. Chronos has a brother. Tento. Should Chronos die, Tento will rule the city.
-
Chronos has fallen.
Homever, i found something than not even the King of the Underworld, Sokar knows about. Inside the traitor\'s castle, i found several logs. One of this logs mencioned something about a Cepter. The Cepter of Power.
I\'ve heard of this Cepter before. It gives it\'s user unlimited power, but not everyone can use it. Chronos saved me the trouble of looking for the Ceptre. I have fled from Sokar\'s realm. He has most likely sent his scouts too find me. I must hurry, there is little time, for the Cepter must be in my possesion before Sokar finds me.
Even though i hate him, his power is impressive, and i cannot defeat him.
The Cepter was made by the Dwarfes of Andoria. I will not waste time with puny towns, my theory is, it is located on the Capital. |

Barbarian Attack - Demo is a game about barbarian hordes, bent on the player's destruction. The player is Belisarius, who must stop several caracthers like Attila the Hun and Bleda from taking over their kingdom, and in the end attack the heartland itself!
Bear in mind that this is a demo. I do not recommend downloading this map unless you are up for the challange of the last mission. If you like micro-management, you might reconsider.[Edited on 12/01/08 @ 10:26 PM]

“Cepter of Power - Chapter One” is a fantasy campaign based around Mephisto and of a city called Sokar.
Playability: The playability of this campaign is reasonable. It was ok, the lack of strong ai attacks meant building up troops was relatively easy but getting near the 3 castles wasn’t so easy. The playability was enhanced by a small cut-scene, which shows events, which build up to what happens in the story.
Balance: The balance of this campaign is fair, the units you fight provide a reasonable challenge. Getting men near the castles wasn’t all ways easy. The campaign isn’t too hard a challenge but it isn’t a walk over either. Improvements for the balance would be if the enemy attacked your base to make it harder to build up a strong force.
Creativity: The creativity of Cepter of Power is mediocre, like many of the other parts of this campaign while not above average it still forms part of a solid all-round campaign. The cut-scene was interesting but I felt it moved around too much on the map.
Map Design: The map design of this campaign was good. It was fantasy, which suited the map design as I would be questioning jungle with ice terrains otherwise. The map design was a little repetitive but on the whole it is above average. One thing I question is the fact that deep water was used next to land in an opposite order from deep to shallow instead of shallow to deep water, I question this even in a fantasy but for the most part the map design had a nice feel to it.
Story/Instructions: The story was enhanced by a cut-scene, which was a good introduction before the campaign began. The story is ok but takes the sidelines so to speak in the playable scenario. However, the story in the cut-scene and the scenario’s intro screen makes up for this. The bitmaps are good and well made and the instructions, history and hint sections are made to a reasonable standard. There are very few spelling errors in this work, however occasionally the text passed by too quickly.
Overall: A reasonable campaign, if the author can hone his skills in other areas to strengthen his overall design then his future campaigns will prove interesting. This campaign is above average and worth a look, but the lack of Ai resistance in the playable scenario is a little of a let down. |
