Whipped this cutscene together in about 7 hours.
I just got the idea to make it, and put my RPG on hold while I did so.
It is about 3 minutes long, on "Fast" speed, which it is meant to run on.
Fast speed is the speed on which I did the choreography.
Features car chases, car pullovers, car crashes, fights, and more!
Even has some great background music performed by Inner Circle.
Total of 3 files in the .zip :
the readme
the .scn
and the .mp3

The scenario is a cut-scene, a parody about 'Cops', the documentary television series that accompanies police forces during their work with camera crews. The show, created by John Langley and Malcolm Barbour, depends on the officers and on the people they come into contact with, there is no narration or scripted dialog.
PLAYABILITY: The scenario was fun to watch, quite funny, simply put hilarious. The cut-scene has some replay value and unfortunately, a random bug by which the end scene does not always work and the game discontinues without a victory signal. 3+
BALANCE: For this category, the reviewer rates if the scenario was too hard or easy to complete for him or if the scenario was well balanced. This scenario's goal is to show a cut-scene where you do not control a unit; it is the author's intent that there will be no fighting. The Review Tutorial provides an extra paragraph to rate Balance in scenarios where no fighting takes place, such as cut-scenes, some puzzle/quiz and some RPG style scenarios. You need to consider the author's original intent, giving the author some benefit of the doubt. If the author never intended the player to face a struggle to survive, then there is no reason to knock down the balance score. 5
CREATIVITY: "Cops" cutscene is original, never saw anything like this before, unfortunately, the idea was not exploited as it could have been. The theme song of the TV show, "Bad Boys", fits well. However, the scenario is not synchron with the MP3 file. 4-
MAP DESIGN: This category left a lot to desire, most scenes had road or broken road with editor green grass. The design witnesses the author's statement in his description, "Whipped this cutscene together in about 7 hours." 2+
STORY/INSTRUCTIONS: Apart from the instruction to rather download 'Christmas Morning' by Yogurt the description recommended to play on fast speed, which puts the scenario out of sync with the music file and is not available when playing the game. The reason was probably that the bug happens more likely on normal than on fast speed, but a trigger fix would be preferable. The author commented, "Well, it helps if you're familiar with the TV show!" Well, some background information about the TV show would have helped the rating of this category. 2
OVERALL: "Cops" cutscene is an unpolished scenario with a creative, good idea.
SUGGESTIONS: For the end scene, widen the 'Set Area' in trigger 'they meet each other' condition 0 and condition 1. For effects 0 to 3 to fire, both trade carts (packed and unpacked) have to 'meet' in that specific area being a bit narrow, sometimes they meet slightly outside of the set area and the effects do not fire. Work on the map design and put more effort into your scenarios.
OBSERVATIONS: In pursuit of a white Bronco...
IN CLOSING: I recommend the scenario to bad and good boys alike. 'Bad boys bad boys whatcha gonna do?
Whatcha gonna do whatcha gonna do when they come for you?' |
