Dry Mind - Revision 1!
Ah, how has time passed!
This script always had held a place in my heart, ever since I uploaded it and received a (rather lackluster) rating. So I thought "hey, how about I check its contents again, just for shits and giggles?" And lo, it was chock full of errors, unnecesary instructions and general immaturity! So I went on and did a quick revision. So, there, here's an improved version for all of you to enjoy!
You can view the changelog in the zip file, as a file note (you can read it with WinRAR).
THE SETTING
As the name implies, it's a desert setting, made up of large dirt islands that serve as starting areas for the players. Out there in the sand are a good amount of resouces you can make use of, but little else. In Regicide mode, players start with a small army of 6 militia and 4 archers, as well as 5 towers for defence.
FEATURES
Pathfinding: *****
Excellent. Open space everywhere.
Food: ***
There's just enough food to get you started, as the amount of food is fairly standard. It shouldn't be a problem at all.
Wood: ***
Again, the amount of wood here is rather bountiful (especially in the start area), despite this being a desert setting.
Gold: *****
Most definitely its greatest asset, on both variations. The MU variation counts with its namesake, a patch of land called MU (for MUSHROOMLAND) which holds some dead trees as well as a large amount of gold. This gives way for some Gold Rush strategies.
The other variation doesn't have this feature, yet gold is still plentiful.
Stone: **
Stone is a bit lacking on this map, you might have to buy most of it.
Base building/walling: ****
There shouldn't be much inconvenient at all - aside from the large forest at your side, the HUGE amounts of open space, and the lack of terrain features, which leads us to...
Strategy: **
Due to the lack of important terrain features, there isn't much to make use of. The openness of the setting and the sheer amount of resources, however, make rush strategies a sound possibility.
AI: ****
It works and performs great, 'nuff said.
Baddies: **
There are some wolves out there. It's not a great amount, anyway, so they shouldn't be a large hindrance.
I hope that you all enjoy the update!

Theme: 5
The theme of a desert is very nicely done. I especially like the sandy patches with dead trees. I can't help but to think that the theme of this RMS leaks in with the Visual Appeal.
Visual Appeal: 5
There is a nice desert look to this map, and it has been constructed very well. There are desert cracks and desert plants here and ther, and patches on sand and dead trees.
Playability: 4
Very playable, there are enough recources to start with, and more to come as you explore the map. I highly reccomend downloading these RMSs.
Additional Comments:
If you do not speak good English, you can use Google Translater to translate from one language to another and back again.
Hope you get more RMSs done soon, Green_Turtle. |
