Hi all,

I've got a problem during creating a multi-player scenario. I've got three villages (building & units). These villages have to be captured by three separate players. There're three flags to show the players where have to go. If one player go there the whole village will be captured. Make it clear. There's a flag for P1, P2, P3 & e.g. P1 goes to his/her flag, the village will be converted by P1. Larger area then normal exploring view distance. If P1 goes to P2's flag nothing happens. But, if one of the villages has been captured by e.g. P1, P2 (or P3) can recapture them. So it looks like GAIA 'state' of the buildings & units remains after capturing them.

First question is. What do you think what will be the best solution to resolve this problem?

I thought to change the villages to another player e.g. P4 which is an enemy NPC (Immobilised player, reacts to triggers) in my scenario. And in the beginning of the game, I change the villages to GAIA. As far as I know, it'll prevent the recapturing issue.

If that's the only way to solve this, my second question comes. Is there any way to easily change the GAIA units & buildings to P4 by default. For example with Trigger Studio or any other tools. If there is, then please tell me.

Thanks a lot in advance for your answers!

Cheers,
derbyday

Use trigger Object In Area condition & Change Ownership effect maybe?

Yea as said above you'll want to use an Object in Area as your condition, specifying the player. You'll require multiple triggers, one for each player, and you'll need to iron out some issues so that they can't be captured while another player still has units in the area. Another issue I can remember is that it keeps flashing whilst a unit is in the area.
Yes you are correct. Any unit converted from a player to GAIA is uncapturable without triggers. it's very useful.
Do the buildings remain captured if no players are in the vicinity?

Thanks for your replies! It wouldn't work. I mean, yeah that'll change the ownership but the GAIA status would be there. I'd like to change the ownership by default. So I placed units & buildings as GAIA, but I'd like to change them to AI player.

I'd like to do that, because if somebody captures the village other player can recapture it. It looks like GAIA status still remain even if change ownership trigger has been captured.

Change ownership from GAIA to player.

Take a look at some RISK maps, I'm pretty sure they do what you want to do.

OK, thanks a lot!

Did you mean this kind of maps or did I misunderstand you?

Yep, pretty sure Jan DC did some of the first RISK maps iirc. But should all be the same in essence.

Can't you just change ownership GAIA to GAIA? Once it's been Change Ownership'd it won't change back.
