HD, but playing DE sometimes, can't really live without HD haha

Yea , I'm also really like the HD more than De. I have it installed anyhow, but can't spare time to play it.. I can find time to play only the HD, conquerors, and Call of Duty, which however is not within Aoe2 so I'll not talk about it. For me, forver HD. I however wish to play the aoe 4 soon .

I think all three games have their niche.

CD version is the original, almost entirely bug free with the Userpatch 1.5 and also the most moddable.

HD has some new campaigns (that were changed in DE), and a casual playerbase that's still alive.

DE is where competetive multiplayer is at, and it has the newest graphics as well as active development.

DE I believe is the best version of AoE2 available today.

However, I would also add that to play DE, you have to have a computer running windows 10 with a decent graphics card and a decent amount of RAM.

If you do not have those things, then it's between the HD edition and the CD version.

If the DE edition is not available to you, I would personally recommend purchasing the HD version, but just using the WololoKingdoms mod to play on voobly with the latest userpatch (https://www.voobly.com/gamemods/mod/860/WololoKingdoms ).
That I think will give you a balance of the best multiplayer experience while also being able to try out all the community has to offer with mods & scenarios.

HD....Do we really need to purchase it? I am playing it for free with every feature. Yes but we have to purchase DE, that I know.
