In my Conquerors scenario with a difficulty setting of Hard, a strong computer player keeps switching its stance toward my weak human player to Enemy despite my desire to keep the computer Neutral in the early stages. I can continually reset the stance to Neutral in my AI script or via triggers just as many previous posts recommended, but the game engine keeps overriding this diplomatic stance, resulting in a stream of messages on the screen.
I've tried setting all sorts of strategic numbers to pacify the computer player without success. For example:
(set-strategic-number sn-minimum-peace-like-level 100)
(set-strategic-number sn-number-attack-groups 0)
(set-strategic-number sn-minimum-attack-group-size 0)
(set-strategic-number sn-maximum-attack-group-size 0)
All other AI scripts I tried show the same behavior, including the Immobile Units variations and even the None personality.
Is there some way to make a Neutral or Allied stance stick in this situation? What settings or conditions would dissuade the game engine from wanting to make the computer player an enemy? Do I have to strip it of all its resources and units or is there a simpler way?
Thanks!
Sir Lawrence
