Hi,
Right now I have designers block on what to do in a scenario to make it more 'Meaty'. I'll give you a story line:
In the scenario before you saw a lord go because he got a message from a woman. He happens to be the leader of a rebel group of samurai. The woman turns out to be the Shogun's daugter. In this scenario you have to find the lord and then follow him as the Shogun's daughter tells you what is in the letter. Then you come up to a 'meeting in the mountains' etc i'm not going to reveal any more but.........
I am stuck for ideas such as little side quests and so on. I have an idea on what to do for finding him and the end. I need something to bring it alive.
P.S I will mention any idea in my campagin which i use and your name will be in the credits.

Sounds like a promising scenario. From the top of my head: because you'll be in the mountains the Lord's samurai could occasionally try to flatten you with rolling rocks and you would have to move out of the way. This would take lots of triggers to animate the rocks coming down.
Or something simpler like trebs raining down on you? Perhaps an objective could be having to disable those trebs by cutting their ropes. Here it goes: The hero is walking along on his quest to and nearing the lord's hideout and all of a sudden treb rocks come flying down from the top of a mountain and he just manages to escape! He knows that if he is to get past he must destroy the trebs but can't do it on his own. He goes to a little village and looks for someone who can help him. There a young and adventurous farmer offers his service and agrees to aid him. The hero tells the farmer to grab his bow and arrows (turn the farmer into a hunter or archer) and then he and the farmer go back to the danger spot. Without being seen they tiptoe behind some rocks an discuss a plan. After deciding what to do the farmer creeps around one side of the mountain while the hero begins to climb. The farmer hides himself in the bushes and begins firing his arrows over the treeline at the treb operaters. The operators (who are the lord's assistants) are angered and rush to where the arrows are coming from. While this diversion is going on the hero leaps up over the ledge onto the plateau and cuts all the ropes of the trebs, rendering them temporarily useless. The hero and the hunter (who escaped by a hair's bredth from the assistants) meet at the foot of the mountain and quickly say goodbye before the hero runs past the lord's outpost and deeper into the mountains. And then you could include a brief cutscene of the infuriated assistants turning from mad to madder as they see what has happened to their trebs!
That was fun writing that! I hope it gave you some inpiration.
I hear the sound of the jaguar. Is this a bad omen?

There's always finding better weapons/armor side trips, humor can help avoid 'same old chit' syndrome.

Maybe a fight where your blade is snapped in two (you can turn the Samurai into a male villager) and you need to have it reforged at a nearby village. But you have to find some way of paying for it first. Just a thought, I'm working on a scenario featuring the Japanese as well, but I don't want to give any of my work away.
