Maybe this works, because some mounths ago i was trying myself to use the change object name effect and then the same problem occurs.
Well, i have some solutions you need to test in order to have a bigger chance to have a green colored trigger.
Ok.. follow my rules:
Make a trigger
Then click the "new effect" button
Then choose the change object name from the drop-menu.
now you have to use the solutions below in order to get youre trigger to work:
Try the try 1 OR try 2 and hope that it will work.. else tell me what was going wrong!
Try 1
Type the name you wish to give youre unit first in the message box then click the unit whos name is changing and then click the goto object button to register that the unit will be the unit whos gonna be changed.
Try 2
First click the select object button then click the unit you wish to be renamed. Then click the goto object button to register that this unit will be the unit whos name is changed to what is described in the message box.
Now youre last thing to do is to type the name you like to give the unit in the message box to have the trigger effect done.
In both cases you need to click the trigger name in the trigger list where all triggers you have made are shown then it will hopefully highlight in yellow then quickly over to the green color.
But if again it doesnt work then you have to do this:
make the trigger effect as above... then when the trigger effect overview is at youre display then follow my rules...
First type the name in the message box and then click the select object and click the desired unit you wish to rename then follow a control check by clicking the goto object button and then you will see the place where the object is whos name is renamed. But when you click the trigger name it is sure red.. Strange? yes.. but in order to fix this you need to test the scenario and then type in the chatbox:
I R WINNER
This code will bring you back to the editor and when you see over youre trigger list where all the triggers are listed you will see that the trigger is green colored which means it is working..! If it is after this procedure not green then im not able to help you... and so it really means that you have to tell me where in the trigger you tought to see the fault.
Wish you luck!
