There are three trigger groups - easy, medium and hard - in one of my scenarios. In every of these I have Research Technologies triggers.
Trigger 1, No, On, No
Condition: Difficulty Level Standard
Effect: Research Technology Player 1 Logistics
Trigger 2, ---
Condition: Difficulty Level Moderate
Effect: Research full Castle Age blacksmith techs (except for infantry) for P3 + Thumb Ring
Trigger 3, ---
Condition: Difficulty Level Hard
Effect: Research full Imperial Age blacksmith techs (except for infantry) for P3 + Parthian Tactics
All players are in Castle Age.
First, the Testing Difficulty in the editor is broken since the patch, so I have to make extra custom campaigns every time. There enemy soldiers in hard have less armor than in medium and easy. I thought that difficulty level plus higher would apply, but the result is weird.

It works the other way around so it's the difficulty level + everything below it. You can easily fix it by having standard disable the moderate and hard triggers and having moderate disable the hard trigger.

You can also use inverse conditions.
