I like it, but any advice should depend on what you're going for!
What I see here is a royal (or, at worst, a noble) estate. I like the use of Age of Empires buildings (is there a mod which imports any/all AOEDE assets into AOE2DE or have you done this yourself? I've not been able to find such a mod), although it does introduce a minor element of discrepancy with the university having a different roof color which is a bit strange given that it's the third main building and the only one which stands out in this way. I'm not sure if the AOE and AOE2 style walls fit together particularly well, though I understand that only AOE2 has gates. I assume the idea behind the academy positioning is that it's sort of a pavilion which in principle people would walk through to get to the heart of the manor, which is neat design-wise and graphically--but sadly doesn't work in terms of actual gameplay! Not a big deal though, you could even play with that discrepancy a bit by having a villager or two standing around or hammering the academy as if they're repairing it, thereby explaining why it's closed to traffic. The random minor gate in the corner I think needs supplementing, what is it a gate to? It just feels a bit out of place right now. Given my assumption that this is a manor, it necessarily must have quite a few servants working the grounds, cooking, etc--where are their quarters? Might be something to think about. Finally, the tent at the bottom seems a bit out of place as such, since it's a temporary structure in a permanent manor--I imagine there's probably some backstory which would explain it. That said, I only noticed it late so it doesn't particularly stand out (to me) as a flaw or anything. I like the two-color flag sets at the main gate.
Bah.
