Hi Everyone,
I have a question regarding scenario design.
I recently manipulated some game files in AOE2 HD (Not DE) when it comes to sounds, music, etc.
I was able to add own taunts, I was able to add my own mp3 music to the game by renaming the files. Nonetheless I still cannot add them to those already existing just by changing number to "xmusic24" or higher value. Is there any way around that?
Or in some dlls music file names are hardcoded?
Another thing is pregame and postgame cinematics.
I've modified 1 avi file per guide article from university
http://aok.heavengames.com/university/other/adding-pre-game-and-post-game-cinematics-to-your-scenario /
but it doesnt work after i add changed avi to "movies" folder.
In AOE scenario editor it is possible to choose my own avi from drop down but its not played.
I think that guide is too old (for The Conquerrors). It says to convert avi to 320:240 resolution which is incredibly small.
Maybe I should change this to my own resolution 1280x1024 and raw uncompressed format and audio codec wav 16 little endian?
**I did convert to this resolution and codes and raw format but situation is the same.
I can assign in the cinematics in scenario editor but doesn't play.
When im trying to compress in IndeoCompressor I have error "could not create compression filter graph. runtime error 91.object variable not set."
Would that be the reason? I think even if not compressed but proper codec & resolution should be ok to play it?
Can anyone post a link to any scenario where post or after victory cinematics actually work?? I i can see how it is made?
Appreciate any responses.
