In "Monty Python and the Holy Grail", the heroes must answer three questions right in order to cross a bridge.
When I play his challenge, if I move my unit to the correct space before he asks his first question, my Player dies. If I move my unit there right after he asks his first question, my player dies and a chat message comes simultaneously from the old man saying that I gave the "right answer", and he poses the next question, for which I would need to be standing on a separate square.
I am playing on AOK HD (2013), whereas the scenario was made for AOK 1.0C. I wouldn't normally expect that playing on a different version would cause this kind of trigger problem.
You can find the campaign here:
I made a savegame file from my AOE2 HD (2013) game, saved from soon before the old man asks the question, in case you want to try his challenge for yourself. Here is the file:
If you play from the savegame, then keep going north to find the old man.
Looking at the triggers, it's important to know the rule that, as Euron_Naharis wrote on REDDIT: "A condition within a trigger is the set condition which must be met before the effects within the trigger can be activated. For example, condition 'Timer' requires a given time to take place before the effects are activated."
The first problematic trigger that I found seems to be Trigger #175 that kills a unit that stands on the little snow patch. It is set to be "Deactivated" when the scenario starts. Yet if I put a unit there in the Editor for the scenario's beginning, whether in AOE2 CD or HD, the unit is immediately killed. I thought that it might mean that Trigger 175 or another Trigger that I didn't find is somehow set ON at the start of the campaign.
IMO, one way this could be fixed is by making one of the "Conditions" of Trigger 172 to be that you are also standing on the main snow spot, and to make one of the effects of Trigger 171 to be that it should tell you to move back to the main snow patch to hear Question 2.
Maybe the problem is that whatever Trigger kills the Hero unit if he walks up to the flags before even the first question is asked is still activated.
Or maybe the problem is that Triggers 171, 172, and 175 don't allow the 3 second grace period to work that is supposed to let the hero walk away from Flag #3 in enough time before Trigger #175 kills him.
