Free grid placement for buildings is only working partially, you can lift the terrain and the "place on top of other objects" restrictions but you can't place buildings fluidly, so to speak.

Will this be updated, is it permanent, or is there something I'm not doing right?

Do you mean that you want buildings to be able to freely place-able, as in not locked to the grid? If so, this is indeed permanent, as placing buildings off-grid (as in not locked to the grid) can cause various issues with the game (this functionality was also avoided in the UserPatch, for good reason).

Thought I recalled being able to do that in userpatch or hd or something. Thanks for clarifying.

I have used Trigger Studio to modify the location of buildings to achieve an 'off grid' placement, since trigger studio accepts decimals in it's X/Y coordinate inputs.

I've only done it once in a scenario, but it seemed to work. What kinds of issues can it cause, Sam?

Usually stuff to do with pathfinding I believe and units getting confused and stuck whilst walking across the map.

I believe if you change it to the nearest .5 or .0 you will be fine. Some of the building get placed at a .5 coordinate and some at a .0 coordinate anyway.

How can I lift the "terrain" and "place on other object restriction"?

I haven't found the button or shortcut.

It used to be Shift+S (plus the no grid feature) in the AoE2:HD but now it sends you to the saving screen.

I have been looking for an answer everywhere, but nobody seems to have the same problem. This is the first post about it that I find on the internet.

I will miss the no grid feature.

[quoted=jizzbomb]Ctrl + g

This works great, thank you!

For AOK: HD, it was Ctrl + s.
