Hey, I found another strange bug; I was building a wall when my villager got attacked by a Bombard Cannon guy on the ground; the cannon hit him down to 2 health, but directly afterwards, his building became SUPER fast! Like, I'm talking 2x the speed of building a wall piece in Turbo Random. I wasn't sure if it was just the wall or not, so with another villager I placed a Castle down while he was building the wall (not to interrupt the guy that was hit), and when the hit villy went over to build the castle, the damn thing was finished in about 7 seconds!
It seems that the villager reaction of being hit by the cannon caused him to, like, 'begin' building every frame or something, and supercharged the building process. Anyone else seen this?

Tanks, I know that, but it requires a research that you might not want to research

I didn't think that was possible, but that's awesome!
Question:
What was your favorite unit in AoE1 (Inclusive RoR)?
Why were the Individual Victory condition messed up when you had allied victory set in AoE1? It doesn't really work as it should.

@ES_Matt -->
1.as a game designer, what do you think of the domination of shooters?
2. If someone were to do a 2d remake of AoK, would you help (basically a genie engine revamp and increased stability with newer operating systems, while updating the graphics -to an extent)
3. as a game designer, what do you think about some of the RTS ports to consoles (rather than PC or mac)
4. do you know ANYTHING AT ALL about the cancelled game Tiberium (a shooter based on C&C)
@ anyone else, or matt. -->
1. does anyone have a mod or anything that uses beta graphics and AoC graphics? (looking for a combo of the best.)

And Byzantines had eastern mercenaries: very heavy cavalry, good light cavalry and cavalry archers. And good fast light infantry. And bad swordsmen. And the best scorpions. But during middle ages. The Byzantine tech tree is taken from the time of Julian, when the Roman capital was still Rome, when Romans were fighting Persian Elephants with pikes, when they had heavy infantry, when they didn't have many eastern mercenaries, when during their campaign in Persia they had a hard time deploying their siege in an open battle.
The only thing that is from later times is their lack of Blast Furnace, as Roman soldiers were the strongest swordsmen in their time but Byzantium switched to lighter troops later.
Huns probably represent a number of eastern nomad invaders. None of them had good heavy cavalry. But also no good heavy infantry. Maybe for balance reasons they gave them Paladins. The alternative might have been to discount their light cavalry and skirmishers or give skirms a bonus vs infantry. I don't know, they are better now, they have more of an identity even though their tech tree is very colorless and their bonuses too few.
