I've been on vacation for a week guys and I just got back. I'm not sure what the deal with the domain name, but I'll ind out. (ok, I see it was for a 2005 cell phone game.. and of course a 2005-6 cell phone doesn't even compare to today's smart phones.
Ok, I feel real bad for teasing everyone as much as I did, because ... hypothetically speaking of course... if something wonderful did happen that involved other people ... I probably couldn't be the one to let the news out in a unofficial way. So either I have nothing of substance to report, or I have something of substance to report but I can't talk about it freely until someone official reports it. I should have seen that set of outcomes coming, and spared everyone the roller coaster ride of wondering. And if it was the latter case then I would ask everyone here to not cross-post or let the speculation spread outside this thread until such time as it was speculation no more. If there was something awesome to speculate about that is.

John, the map editor (scenario editor) always was integrated into the rest of the genie engine for a couple reasons. First was the lack of alternative tools at the time, but even more important to AoE & AoK was the degree of specialization needed in the editor. Since the game and engine code was under constant development, the scenario editor needed to use the same code so it could always be current with development.
